It's easy to make windows open to the size you want...

...once you know this simple trick.

How do I make windows open to the size that I want them to?

It happens all the time: You click somewhere to open a window, and it opens in a tiny little square. Or it fills the entire screen. And neither is the size that you wanted. But there's a quick fix, if you remember this: When you adjust the size of a window, Windows remembers that size. Then, when you open that window again, Windows will automatically open it to that size.

Here's how to do it.
  1. Open your window -- It opens to its usual, unwanted size.
  2. Drag and drop the window's corners with your mouse until the window reaches your desired size.
  3. Close the window.
The next time you open that window, it should reopen to the same size you last left it.
